Philip Stein, MBA, CPA
Chief Executive Officer
Philip moved to Jerusalem from
Chicago with his wife Judy in 1979, but remains a loyal South
Sider and an avid U.S. sports fan. Luckily his passion is now
accommodated by a satellite dish, but years ago his sports fix
required great dedication.
After a stint at the Chicago branch
of Ernst & Young, Phil recognized the need to serve the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers stationed in the Negev building airbases
mandated by the 1978 Camp David Accords, the right to which he
received from the U.S. government after great effort and persistence.
At the time, Phil was the only non-military personnel allowed
on the base. Working with the U.S. forces in Israel brought new
opportunities in both Jerusalem and Cairo, as Phil's unique services
were in demand among U.S. expatriates who had been in Saigon
and Teheran. This period and these experiences helped Phil develop
his expertise and led to the opening of the Jerusalem office.
Phil has an MBA degree from the
University of Michigan (1977) specializing in international taxation,
and a BA degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign.
He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society.
Recently, Philip was active in
Knesset advisory committees and lobbying against the Israeli
tax reform of 2002.
